Creating Connection Through Art Workshop is a free workshop for children and their caregiver to attend together and will create an opportunity for them to bond while creating fluid art using the bloom method. Each person will have the opportunity to create three pieces of art – one heart ornament, one small 4×4 canvas, and a painted mushroom.
Medium: Acrylic Fluid Art
Materials Provided: Paint, trays, mushrooms, small canvases, ornaments, popsicle sticks, gloves, paper towels
Materials to Bring: Water bottle, hair band to pull hair back, cloths that can get dirty

Artist Bio:
Sierra pours her love of nature and people into her art, creating something to share through film, graphics, resin, watercolor, oils, acrylics, and mixed media. She uses techniques including collaging, acrylic pouring, string pulling, blowing, jewelry making, heat torching, and painting. Her work has been exhibited in Bellingham, Blaine, Lynden, Seattle, New York, and Timor-Leste. Sierra was born near Bellingham, Washington, and attended both the University of Washington and Columbia University.
Sierra has been painting for over 20 years. She spent 15 years living in the post-conflict nation of Timor-Leste working child protection, gender equity, and violence prevention utilizing a transformative arts curriculum. For this work, she was awarded an Ashoka Fellowship for social entrepreneurship.
