In this class, we will be painting on a medium-weight, 100% silk scarf with a hand sewn rolled edge. The fabric has a wonderfully smooth and shiny surface, perfect for painting with a luxurious satin finish. We will be using Jacquard fabric dyes, which are designed to create rich, transparent colors that highlight the fabrics’ natural translucence. I hope to see you there!

Stephanie Strong ASID is principal of Strong Design.
With a degree in Interior Design and holding a Sustainable Design Certificate, she enjoys promoting sustainable design practices while integrating green products into each project design.

Stephanie Strong, a Bellingham artist has lived in the Pacific Northwest for 30+ years and is happy to have called Bellingham home for the last 15 years. Stephanie enjoys working with acrylic and watercolors but a few years ago she was introduced to silk painting. She likes how the paint flows freely on the silk and is more unpredictable than watercolor and now painting on silk is her specialty. She is currently exhibiting her artwork in The Art Market in Fairhaven. She has exhibited at The Colophon Cafe, The Sanctuary in Bow, WA, the Bellingham and Skagit Food Co-ops, at the Sudden Valley Clubhouse & Barn Community Center. She often exhibits at the Jansen Center in Lynden, WA and recently she was part of the Blaine Arts Council Studio Tour.
