
Spend a beautiful day creating art inspired by the garden! In , you’ll explore the beauty of working with real flowers as both pigment and subject. We’ll use a variety of techniques, including Biochrome printing, painting with flower pigments, and designing finished collages ready for framing. You’ll also learn about different flower drying methods like pressing, hanging, and using silica.
Participants are encouraged to bring a few fresh flowers from their own gardens. Fresh and pressed flowers will also be provided. By the end of the day, you’ll take home multiple projects and your very own handmade flower press filled with cheerful pansies!
Please bring a lunch or plan to grab something in the village during our break.

Instructor Bio:
Belinda Botzong is a mixed media artist in Bellingham, Washington. She loves to find objects in nature and transform them into her own unique designs, especially using flowers as art supplies. Belinda creates collages using a wide variety of papers, paints, and found objects. Acrylics, cold wax and oil, cyanoprinting, scanography, and flower pigments are all used in her art.
As an active member of the Whatcom Art Guild, Belinda facilitates a group of artists focused on acrylics and mixed media. She serves on the Marketing Committee for the Guild
Belinda has had her works shown in galleries around the country, including her collection of Medical Imaging created with an MRI scanner. She has been a medical imaging technologist for over 30 years and lives in Bellingham, WA, with her husband and grown children.
