Event Type

This advanced beginner class builds on the foundation of Basic Hand Broom Making Class. Previous broom making experience is requested. In this class students will learn to weave or plait in the round on a hand broom using different materials including broomcorn and leather. Students will also learn how to stitch hand brooms using a clamp and large needle. These skills can translate into many different types and iterations of hand brooms. Broomcorn, twine, leather strips and broomcorn stalks for weaving are provided. Students will be given instructions and perimeters to bring materials for weaving.
