Acrylic Exploration: Techniques, Color Mixing and Creating Textures (session 1)
In this class, students will explore color and technique through hands-on practice and guided experimentation. We’ll learn how to mix colors with confidence, use complementary colors to create balance, and build rich textures that add depth and interest to a painting. Students will come away with a stronger understanding of color, texture, and value to apply in their own work.
This is a 4-part class, consisting of two-hour sessions occurring on the following dates:

Materials provided: All materials will be provided but students may choose to purchase their own canvases
Materials to bring: Wear painting clothes or apron recommended – acrylic paint does not wash out. Bring water to drink if desired.
Instructor Bio
Beverly Davis has a degree in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Seattle, majoring in Illustration and Graphic Design. Art has been threaded through her life extensively from commission work and involvement in the local Art Guild in Bellingham, Washington to teaching art enrichment classes and private lessons.
Painting since 1990, Bev is best known for her realistic style which brings portraits of animals and people to life. She
continues to explore the use of light and color in her paintings to capture the beauty of the Pacific Northwest where she lives.
Currently Beverly sells her work online (BevsArt.com) and at the Whatcom Art Market, a local co-op gallery. Many of her recent pieces are also on her instagram @BevsArt.
